SOAK IN GRATITUDE

This weekend retreat will immerse you in the uplifting and transformative practice of gratitude. You will be guided by Dr. Katia Sol in developing a daily gratitude practice, through time in circle, alone, and on the land.   We will reflect on what we are grateful for from 2017, in preparation for Thanksgiving and the upcoming Solstice and New Year.

The retreat also includes a daily gratitude-themed yoga class with the amazing Danielle Devaki Gustafson, founder of The Grateful Goddess retreats.

All this will be supported by plenty of time for reflection, soaking in our own private on site hot tub overlooking the beautiful hills, as well as walks on the land with 360 degree views of the SF Bay area.

Spirit House, Woodacre, California

Our magical destination of Spirit House is located in beautiful West Marin County, Northern California, roughly 1 hour northwest of San Francisco.

You will return home from this retreat rejuvenated and with the foundation needed to continue a daily gratitude practice that has the power to transform your life.

Be Grateful

Be Grateful

GRATITUDE IS A Radical life-affirming ACT

In this retreat, we will explore the many benefits of cultivating a daily gratitude practice.

We will go deep into the roots of our experience, to explore what truly supports us to feel grateful.  We will look at what is in the way of our gratitude, and give it voice. We will harvest from our past year, and set intentions for the solstice and new year to come.  We will reflect alone and through journaling, and we will share with each other one-on-one and in circle.  We will move our gratitude through yoga, walk our gratitude in the rolling hills of Marin, and soak in gratitude in the hot tub.  Throughout, we will be learning and developing simple but powerful practices that we can take home to use in our daily lives and with our families, friends, partners, colleagues, and communities.

For, as Michelle and Joel Levy write,

"The moment you shift from a mindset of negativity or judgement to one of appreciation, there are immediate effects at many levels of your being: Brain function becomes more balanced, harmonized and supple; your heart begins to pump in a much more coherent and harmonious rhythm; and biochemical changes trigger a host of healthful responses throughout your body.  Especially in difficult times, remembering to return to gratitude is a radical life-affirming act that builds your capacity for resilience."

DANIELLE DEVAKI GUSTAFSON

yoga / founder of the grateful goddess

Danielle Gustafson (Devaki) has two jobs, two kids and a serious case of wanderlust. She is a yoga educator. She is a real estate broker. She views leading classes, retreats and trainings, as a blessing and a calling. She sees yoga in everything she does and dabbles in nutrition. Gone are the days of shoestring world travel but she gave it a good run.

After nearly a decade of teaching prenatal, baby and toddler yoga, she’s held space for countless mamas through joys and challenges of motherhood. Inspired by her baby yoga mamas and her own incredibly rocky start to motherhood, Danielle was determined to hold new mamas in the loving arms of sisterhood, support and spirituality and created Sacred Beginnings training retreats & classes. As we grow, we evolve (if we're lucky) and Danielle recognized the need to expand Sacred Beginnings to something bigger, more all encompassing for women of all ages and stages ... And The Grateful Goddess was born!

Certified at the 500-hour level, Danielle finds sharing yoga an absolute honor and none of her classes are ever the same – each guided by whim, weather, request and creative impulse. She has an amazing ability to tailor the experience to exactly what’s needed in the moment, no matter if it's a beginning-level class or a class for those whose mat is worn out and their arm balances momentarily perfected. Danielle adopted the view that the yoga mat is a mirror reflecting back Truth - a beautiful manifestation of experience unfolding with breath, movement and turning up the volume of inner listening. She has taken her yoga out into the world leading yoga classes and retreats in various countries, almost always those with sunshine and a gorgeous beach. Danielle is a professional level yoga educator and has trained with world-renowned teachers including Manju Jois, Baron Baptiste and Don & Amba Stapleton. She lives and reigns in St. Augustine Beach, FL and (when the stars align) Nosara, Costa Rica.
